If you’re ready to move beyond simply understanding your camera and start creating photographs with real intent and impact, Focus Ring is where that journey begins.

This is a small, carefully structured group mentoring programme, limited to just 10 photographers. It is designed for those who already have a working knowledge of their camera but recognise that strong photography is not just about settings—it’s about seeing, interpreting, and creating.

While the technical side of photography is important, it is only one part of the equation. The real challenge—and the real reward—lies in developing your creative eye. Understanding composition, light, timing, and visual storytelling is what transforms a technically correct image into something far more powerful. The focus of this group is to help you develop that ability, steadily and with purpose.

Focus Ring runs as an ongoing monthly membership, with participants committing in six-month blocks at a cost of £450. Each month, we meet in person at a location near Fleet to review your work, provide guidance and teaching, and set the next stage of assignments. This rhythm of learning, practising, and returning with new work creates real momentum and measurable progress over time.

Throughout your time in the group, you will be set thoughtful assignments, encouraged to explore new ways of seeing, and guided in refining your compositional and artistic approach.

A key strength of the programme is the group dynamic. Working alongside a small number of like-minded photographers creates an environment where ideas are shared, work is discussed openly, and progress is accelerated through both guidance and peer interaction.

PLEASE NOTE:

Places are limited and the group is typically fully subscribed. If this is something you would like to be part of, please email info@hampshirephotosschool.com and I will add you to the waiting list.
