This is quite simply our best-ever photography workshop

Nestled in the grounds of the stunning 121-acre estate of Warbrook House, the Photography Masterclass is a twelve-month course which will transform your photography.

Warbrook's purpose-built training wing is state of the art, providing the perfect environment for learning. It's facilities want for nothing and as a student on this course you will meet new friends, developing supportive relationships to help each other throughout the year.

Teaching is provided by one of Hampshire's most experienced professional photographers, Kevin Ahronson. Kevin brings over 40 years of experience behind the camera, sharing it openly in a teaching style that is clear, visual, in-depth and fun.

Not for the faint-hearted

This is a course you'll need to take seriously if you are to get the most from it. Each session is three hours long, with elements of teaching and practicals. In addition, there will be photo-assignments between sessions which you can do either on your own or together with other students on the course.

Spread the Cost

There is an option to spread the cost (interest-free) over ten months.

3 Key Tenets

The three tenets that form the underlying backbone of this course are:

  • You will get to know your camera intimately
  • You will know how to take full creative control in any circumstance
  • You will develop the eye of the photographer

Course content

The opening sessions will concentrate on laying down rock-solid foundations upon which to build the rest of your photography.

You'll then go on to learn about composition, about photographing people (candid/reportage as well as formal), working with flash, landscape photography, macro photography and finally you'll be introduced to some of the key editing skills you'll need to further enhance your creative process.

Throughout the warmer months, there will be opportunities to go out into the grounds of the estate to put into practice what you have learned in the classroom.

Requirements

Applicants will need to own either a DSLR or mirrorless camera which takes interchangeable lenses. It would not be suitable for bridge cameras.

We will provide facilities for note-taking.
