Photography Masterclass (One Year)

Next one starts Sunday 26 April 2020

If you ever wondered what it would be like to study photography without making any compromise on the learning experience, look no further.

The Warbook Venue

Set in the grounds of Warbrook House, Eversley, the Photography Masterclass has found the ultimate workshop venue.

Warbook's new purpose-built conference centre is equipped with all the luxury and technology that delivers the finest teaching environment you could wish for.

Partnering with Warbrook has enabled us to offer a photography learning experience that is simply unrivalled.

Warbrook House is an 18th-century mansion (now a hotel) in Eversley, Hampshire, situated in 121 acres of grade II listed gardens, complete with its own canal.

The Workshop

Students on the Photography Masterclass will immerse themselves in photography for a whole year, working as part of the larger group but also in smaller groups of 2 or 3, supporting and assisting each other.

This is a ten-module photography course with photo-assignments between sessions and students can choose to work on their assignments entirely on their own - or by teaming up with others in their group.

Each session lasts three hours and will include time to examine assignment images and take part in practicals (where appropriate).  Although it runs over the course of a year, the class closes during August and December.

Sessions run on Sundays from 11 am - 2 pm

A practical course

One of the advantages of learning from a working professional is that, unlike most college courses which tend to be rather esoteric and arty, this will be practical - designed for the photographer who wants the skills to succeed in the real world.

Learning in a Group

Groups can be wonderfully encouraging and self-supporting.  You are all growing together, learning at the same time.  It's not unusual for long-lasting friendships to develop and for many in the group it often leads to students developing a genuine passion for photography, going on to take other classes or training - to further improve their photographic skills.

You will be learning from industry professional Kevin Ahronson and you can expect instruction at the very highest level.  Kevin is one of the best photography teachers in the UK and has personally taught hundreds of students from beginners through to those who want to go professional.

Our 3 bedrock principals

The syllabus will focus on the three bedrock principles you will need to develop to be a consistently good photographer:

  • Mastery over your camera

  • Mastery over light

  • Mastery over your ability to see with photographer's eyes

In addition, there will be entire sessions devoted to:

  • Landscape photography

  • People photography

  • Flash photography

  • Close up (Macro) photography

The year will end with introductions to both Photoshop and Lightroom, the two most commonly used editing tools.

This is unashamedly the most exciting workshop we've ever run, packed with content, in a learning environment that will relax and inspire.

There is nothing else like it
