Unleash Your New Camera (4 evenings)
'Unleash' has been successfully running since January 2016. It is a great way to learn photography in a small group with people who have a similar level of photographic skill as you.
Most people who join this workshop do so having just received a camera for Christmas. It will be capable of taking extraordinary photographs, but only if you know how to master it. To 'unleash' its potential.
Others join for a variety of reasons but usually, it's because they have a nice camera and don't really know how to get the best out of it.
Learning to use a camera is a bit like learning to drive.
At first, you have to master the pedals, the gear changes, the indicators and mirror. There's a learning curve that everyone has to go through before they pass their test and are able to drive their car safely anywhere they want.
It's the same with photography. It also has a learning curve and it has a similar pain barrier that everyone has to go through if they want to take that camera anywhere they want, to use it creatively and instinctively.
You drive your car without thinking about the controls... so it should be with your camera.
Learning in a Group
Groups can be wonderfully encouraging and self-supporting. You are all growing together, learning at the same time. It's not unusual for long-lasting friendships to develop and for many in the group it often leads to students developing a genuine passion for photography, going on to take other classes or training - to further improve their photographic skills.
This course runs over four consecutive Tuesday evenings in the tiny village of Crookham, on the outskirts of Fleet (North Hampshire).
The venue is Crookham Street Social Club. There is a bar downstairs with extremely low prices. You are welcome to purchase a drink at the bar and bring it up with you to the training room on the first floor. Sadly, there is no lift.
You will be learning from industry professional Kevin Ahronson and you can expect instruction at the very highest level. Kevin is one of the best photography teachers in the UK and has personally taught hundreds of students from beginners through to those who want to go professional.
This is a four-module photography course with photo-assignments between sessions. Each session lasts one and a half hours and will include time to examine your assignment images.
